Just like we want to know about you, you should also know something about us. We are proud to be doctor's of chiropractic, health and wellness educators, public speakers, and active participants in community service. To receive a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, one must complete a program with a core curriculum consisting of basic science courses similar to a pre-med program, followed by a four year chiropractic education and clinical internship.
To Give, To Love, To Serve
Or in other words… Why we became chiropractors
As partners at Lotus of Life, we (Jamie and Liliana) share the same goals, desires, and passions for chiropractic and your life! Even though our diplomas say “Doctor of Chiropractic”, we see ourselves as dealing with more than the traditional sense of chiropractic (the spine alone). We look at the body as a whole working towards an ultimate potential in life. We want the same things out of life as you do: To be healthy, prosperous, appreciated, to laugh, learn, love, grow, have adventures, to feel a sense of accomplishment, to be nurtured, to care for others, to make a difference… and the list goes on. Here at Lotus of Life you are as involved in this as we are. And please, feel free to call us Jamie and Liliana.
I (Jamie) grew up in Dayton, Ohio. I did my undergraduate studies at Wright State University in order to prepare myself for my future. I came to Life University in Marietta, Georgia immediately following those studies. That is where I credit Life beginning for me. Since I have found life in chiropractic, I have found life everywhere else. To make a long story short, I was under chiropractic care since the age of 9. After hearing my newborn cousin cry at the age of 13, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I saw the success of my chiropractor and I wanted the same for my life. So, I chose Life University to guide me in the right direction… and it definitely has! Despite my passion to be a chiropractor, I had no idea what I was really in store for. Within the first half of my first quarter at Life, I attended a seminar with Liliana. That was when I heard the truth about innate intelligence and subluxation.
I was amazed as my friend, and now partner, explained something deeper than I had ever imagined. Originally, I thought chiropractic was for neck and back pain, even though I had had neither as a 9 year old child. Through the realization of what chiropractic really is, I knew that I was chosen to be the vessel to give back to the world the gift I had just received.

On December 6th, 2006, I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, Eva Victoria. It was amazing to see the power my body had to create her, maintain her in my uterus for almost 44 weeks, and deliver her safely into the world. I got adjusted with BGI and Webster Technique throughout my pregnancy. It helped me so much throughout the everyday bodily changes associated with pregnancy. I couldn't imagine being pregnant and not getting adjusted. My baby was even able to get adjusted while in-utero! It was amazing to feel her respond in my body during and directly after the adjustment.
I had a home birth with a midwife even through I was 3 weeks and 3 days past due. I knew that my body and my babies' body knew when the time was right. Women have been doing it for centuries, right? She wasn't ready at 40 weeks and just needed some extra time for whatever reason. I had a ssafe 10 hour labor that was very intense but the most beautiful and empowering experience of my life. I got my nervous system checked throughout labor and each time I got adjusted; my labor progressed further and further. Before I knew it, my body was telling me it was time to push and within 20 minutes, I was holding Eva in my arms.
So here I am today, not only a chiropractor, but a servant to humanity. I am here to offer my many experiences through the gift of healing that I was blessed with… and so are you!
I (Liliana) was born in Minnesota, but lived in various different places prior to my family settling in Virginia. I lived there through undergraduate college at James Madison University. Although I received a degree in psychology, two years after graduating I realized how much I missed being around chiropractic, and decided to go back to school. I was actually a chiropractic patient since the age of 13 when my family started under care. I had severe asthma and had done just about everything the medical doctors could recommend. It was severe enough that I had a machine at home to help me breathe so I wouldn’t have to rush to the doctor’s office every time I had an attack. In a very short time after starting chiropractic care my asthma was virtually gone. And my machine? Long forgotten. I now know that, given the chance, my body has the ability to heal itself and work how it is meant to. I never HAD “asthma”, I had subluxations.
Asthma was just the symptoms of those subluxations. When I got adjusted and the subluxations were removed, my body was then capable of creating a healthful state instead of one of dis-ease. My body went from a state of constant stress and survival to one of positive change, growth, and health. I am here to serve you in your pursuit of health, physically and otherwise, through my experience working in other chiropractic offices and what I learned in my graduate studies at Life University. Due to the passion and skill of my first chiropractor, I am where I am today. I can only hope that my passion for the innate healing potential inside each of you will help you create more of who you are . . . amazing, wise, whole individuals capable of changing your world and the world around you!
~ Namaste ~ "The innate spirit within me loves and appreciates the innate spirit within you."
