About Liliana Warner, Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Liliana Warner, D.C., received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Atlanta. Her undergraduate degree in Psychology is from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Dr. Liliana received extensive training in Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI), working closely with Dr. Sue Brown, the creator of the BGI approach to wellness.

As a child Dr. Liliana suffered from severe allergies and asthma, often contracting viruses and bacterial infections from a compromised immune system. In 1991, her mother reluctantly visited a chiropractor for back and shoulder pain after medical doctors could not help her. She could not lift her right arm to write on the blackboard, and that was a problem for a high school teacher! She experienced relief after her first chiropractic visit, and at her chiropractor suggestion, brought Liliana in for an initial examination.

Dr. Liliana immediately experienced results from her chiropractic care, and within a couple of months most of her symptoms disappeared. She no longer needed an inhaler, and didn't have to sleep upright to keep from coughing all night. Frequent illnesses from a compromised immune system became a thing of the past as chiropractic care enabled Dr. Liliana's body to function as it was intended, healing and strengthening her body from within.

While a high school student, Dr. Liliana worked in a chiropractor office, and after receiving her undergraduate degree worked as a chiropractic assistant in Richmond, Virginia. She saw all of the people who were helped in those practices, and felt her calling to serve others by becoming a chiropractor herself. She enrolled in Life University and began the rigorous course of study required to become a chiropractor.

"Dr. L.", as many of her participants affectionately know her, is proud to be a Doctor of Chiropractic, a health and wellness educator, a public speaker, and an active member of the Decatur community. She enjoys partnering with her participants at Lotus of Life Chiropractic to help them realize a lifetime of health and wellness.

Dr. Liliana's Statement of Purpose

I chose to focus on family, pediatric, and pregnancy care because I was introduced to chiropractic care as a child and was able to see firsthand how much of a difference it makes when started at an early age. Both of my parents suffered from chronic back pain as a result of injuries from earlier in their lives and my younger brother endured persistent ear infections as a child. Chiropractic has helped my parents to heal their back injuries and has taught them enough about health that they no longer worry about reinjuring themselves. My brother has not had an ear infection since he started going to a chiropractor. The big difference between the two situations is that my brother started being adjusted at age 8 when his body was still developing whereas my parents had their injuries develop as part of them, making them more difficult to heal.

As children, we have an amazing capacity to heal ourselves but we become so caught up in life that most people forget that that healing power is always available. My mission is to help adults to harness that internal power and to help children to never forget it!

When a parent comes into my office tired and cranky after a long day of work but leaves only with thoughts of playing with their children, my goal is met.

When a woman is able to have an intervention-free delivery after her baby develops correctly and is perfectly positioned with help from my chiropractic adjustments, my goal is met.

When a person is no longer dependant on medications and is empowered to live their life to the fullest, my goal is met.

As a chiropractor, when a child says "Thank you" or "I love you" after an adjustment because they feel so much better, I know my goal to help others is met.

I became a chiropractor because I experienced its power first-hand and I felt a calling to share that knowledge with others so we can all live in a happier, healthier world.

About Our Staff

Lisa is a refugee from Corporate America, which may seem unexpected for a woman who spent the 90's earning a BFA in theatre and then doing graduate research in education reform and feminist theory. Following that scenic route, she discovered an accumen for project management and subseq ently spent a decade as a business analyst and project manager,
working mainly on projects centered on business organization and information systems. In 2010 Lisa began casually practicing Reiki, insisting she could quit any time. However, when the excitement of Reiki and energy work became an obsession and the stress of the commute to and from work became too much to take, it was time for a big change.

Lisa began to search for a way to earn a living close enough to home that she could walk or bike there; something that would allow plenty of time with her family (husband Jeremiah, daughers Kate and Sarah, dogs Monkey and Lydia and cat Rex) and time to practice and teach Reiki. It sounds like a tall order, but in fact, the role of office manager at Lotus of Life
completely fits that bill!

As the office manager here, Lisa will have the opportunity to apply her business skills in an environment far more suitable for an energy-obsessed Reiki master. Having been an LOL participant for over 2 years, Lisa understands first-hand the work being done here, and is thrilled to be an official part of the team that's working so asiduously for the well-being of its community (as individuals and a group!)

Perhaps some of you at Lotus of Life will already recognize me from around the office or perhaps your intake interview.  But for those of you who do not know me my name is James Duga and I am the new intern.  I will be filling the position left by your previous intern Jackie.  I must take this moment to say how fortunate I feel to be the next intern here because my predecessors make up a group of chiropractic students who I have watched have a profound influence on the community and culture at Life University, and those communities they have made them selves part of since graduating.  I am honored to be counted among them.  All this made better by the mentor ship of Dr. Liliana and the wonderful opportunity she has afforded me.

So some back ground on me.   Well lets see, I am from Maine, and yes it is cold there.  I attended the University of Southern Maine where I studied Psychology, and I am currently nine months from graduating Life University as a Chiropractor, a fact that I am very excited about.  Those are the big details but some fun facts about me might be that  I have been training in the martial arts since the age of 11.  I feel that the development of physical interaction and control of motion has led to a deepened understanding of chiropractic principles and application.  In fact B.J. Palmer the developer of chiropractic modeled one of the most important concepts of chiropractic after a principle he learned from a martial art he was studying at the time.   Some thing a little more fun is the fact that for a period of about 5 years before coming to chiropractic school I worked for a company called Medieval Times where it was my job to ride horses, joust, and fight with swords.  It was a marvelous experience,  however I have known I was coming to Chiropractic school from the age of about 13, when during a talk given by my first Chiropractor he said “ you could become a Chiropractor”.  From that moment on I knew what I was going to do with my life knowing almost nothing about the practice.  It spoke to me in such a way that I was sure it was going to be the path my life would take.

I have been following that path since, and it has led me here. I cannot wait to see what the next 5 or 10 years have in store. But in just the short time I have had to work with a small few of Lotus of Life's’ participants I can only say that I am excited and look forward to meeting and serving many more of you.
